I recently bought a Calcutt & Sons GP saddle. Its loooovely and is beautiful english leather. Had the saddle fitter out to fit it to my girly and she wont touch it.

Apparently its faulty - One saddle flap is about an inch out (giving it a kind of skewed look that would tip all your weight onto the back righthand side.)

Im emailing them to see if i can send it back (although i didnt buy directly from them

) but has anyone else had one of these saddles or any problems like this?

how old is it? did you buy it privately?

hmmmm.... i would like to think a well respected company would help you anyway, as it is so obviously faulty, and manufactured badly.

or, like the_carthorse says, return it to the person you got it from... what a pain! x

I have a couple of Calcutt saddles, and when I asked my local tack shop if they were interested in selling them for me they said they wouldnt touch them with a barge pole as they have a reputation for being exactly as you described, but said this is only a more recent problem as they used to have a very good reputation.
