As well as the gradings, there are ridden showing classes, dressage, carriage driving, novelty classes, side saddle, concours, a complete Friesian-fest!!!

Apart from the grading classes, ALL other classes are open to both members and non-members, and there are classes for unregistered Friesians as well.

Spectators welcome, entry for all classes closes on August 1st, so please come along and support the classes, or just come along to spectate and see some of the best Friesians in the UK.

I had hoped to go along to support those taking their friesians but we have a dog show the same day and i've decided to go to that instead :( I always have a clash with horse and dog things and the dogs have to take priority! Maybe next year!

i would love to go do you think we would be able to buy friesian stuff??? yes i really am that sad ;) :D

not sure if hubby would let me im going to hoys

We will have polo shirts, jackets, hats, saddlecloths, key rings, pictures, judging books, stickers, fridge magnets, etc etc etc for sale. Better than HOYS! Bet they aren't selling Friesian stuff!

I'm all the way up in Ayrshire Scotland so not bringing the baby but coming all the way down just to drool over other friesians!
& ibot I'm that sad too - that's one of the main things I was getting excited about buying "friesian stuff"! Lol.

oh i am so tempted now :D i have no idea where leicestershire is compared to where i am
***** runs to check aa route planner******

do you have to buy tickets or is it a door thing?

I'm going :) Only to spectate this year, took the babies last year for inspection as foals at foot so won't take them again now until they are 3. Dandea has already been graded and Danica is too old bless her but I'm planning a good day out - can't wait!

Always want to go to these things but they are all so far away. 4 hours drive from my house to this event. In 4 hours I can be half way to Holland, lol!

im in the same boat as bexwarren maybe if they made it more diffrent places such as kent etc instead of one place there get more turnout ,but as a near 3hr drive each way , its a bit to much , i would love to start showing my youngsters ,
but i have never got my own graded ,and one that i brought never got graded can you still get them graded if not down when at foot one is 2 and other is 11 months ?

I had mine graded at 2 and she wasnt registered til a few months before the gradings so definately not graded before :D Only a few days left to enter now though..!!

una b its very tempting and to know this , i will defently go next year . i probley see you there if you take your mare

She wont be there next year as im hoping she will be in foal and im far too paranoid to risk stressing her out lol! But i hope to take her in a couple of years once foal is weaned :D
