Hi all, hope fully a relatively quick question.

Does anyone have an Ifor 505 in the 1995-1998 age bracket and if so, roughly how much does it weigh? (cannot get this info on a google have tried). Also, how do you find getting running parts fr it?

Many thanks,
Laura x

Sorry not much help - mines a 4year old 505 classic - which is looking for a new home may I add

Do you mean ones with the wooden sides?? (that's what mine it) Not sure on weight - I assumed it was not that different from the newer ones, but mine has replacement aluminium floor so couldn't really say which I realise is not much use

In terms of getting parts, it has been variable - brake pads, wheels obvioulsy fine but currently having a nightmare with wheel bearings so have had to get a new wheel unit (not sure if that is right term but have lovely mechanic doing it for me) as they don't make the bearing bit on it's own due to some problems..... ££££££ but it is still a lovely set of wheels and feels robust and safe.

Mines probably in that age bracket and has just gone off to be serviced. I've just bought some brake pads for it and they were easy to get hold of.

My repair man has just replaced an entire axle for a 505 with the wooden sides. He said that worked out cheaper than buying new bearings, shoes, pads and whatever else the wheel is consisted of!

I've also just replaced my ramp, and the plasticky wood for that was easy to get hold of too.

I hope mine doesn't need wheel bearings then!!!

As to its weight. I've always assumed it was in the 1000kg bracket. I've never had it weighed though so I don't know.

I'm sure if you rang a local IW dealer they'd know. My dealer said the older the IW the better as they were built to last if they're more than 10yrs old.....

I've just had a double floor put in my trailer and it now feels REALLY heavy to tow - hence the mechanic having a look at it as I wondered whether the brakes were sticking.

But I dropped it off tonight, and he felt the wheel drums and said they weren't hot, so unlikely they're sticking. So maybe it's my car that is feeling its age!!!

My 505 has 11-97 or 3-98 stamped on the wheels so is in the age range you want.

I don't have wooden sides on mine, from the outside it looks just like the last 505/510's to come off the production line. The interior is not that time warp, just a light grey shade throughout.

I'm not aware there is a problem, much of the stuff is very much the same as on the last 505/510's, the changes were more cosmetic than anything else I was told.

My one now has a replacement aluminium floor so the weight is probably different now to what it says on the plate.

Look what I found!!!
