Just contacted the lovely lady who heads up our riding club and as well as emailing all members with the details of the charities involved in the rescue and asking them to make donations, she has also kindly offered to make a donation from the riding club itself.

Can anyone on here contact the head of their local riding club to ask for similar help. Every little helps and I think most people are willing to help if the know who to donate to and how easy it is to make a donation - nearly all charities now have a secure online facility.

I know a lot of us are members of the ILPH, BHS etc etc already but this rescue attempt is going to pull on all their purse strings and every little bit helps.

The National Horse Trust is a smaller charity that is helping a large number of the horses rescued and they were my personal choice for my donation but no matter which charity you choose, I am sure any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully received. Go on - email your riding club chairman or other members!

Thanks in advance - links below (yes I know they are on other posts but won't do any harm)

Just got this from my local riding club.

Have just received email from Horsewatch re the 130 horses found near Amersham> There has been huge response from people wishing to help. However, horses need to be under veterinary suupervision now, but may need foster homes later. Offers to foster should be directed to RSPCA and Redwings Horse Sanctuary info@redwings.co.uk

People worried that horses have been stolen can rest assured that this will be checked.

Any donations to the charities who have taken on burden of this appalling case will be most gratefully received: The Horse Trust, Redwings Horse Sanctuary, Blue Cross, International League for the protection of Horses and RSPCA. Find details on respective websites.

Please call police on 0845 8 505505 if you have urgent info regarding this case quoting that you are responding to a Ringmaster message.

AmyMay - I will see if I can collar somebody and have a word over the weekend. Will speak to a few people on the yard who are on the committee and see if they would be interested in making a donation or see if we can organise some sort of pleasure ride. I can't promise anything but I did speak to one last night sbout the situation and she was as horrified as any of us about it.

my riding club donated £500 yesterday

I have just popped out into my mail, and composed a missive to my riding club, I will also be getting at all themembers that way, as I'm sure this will be forwarded to the whole lot, and in the message they will see that I am doing this trip with goods, which Ovidius and I are doing in about two weeks.

I hope to get in touch wityh ILPH fairly soon and let them know its coming, and when etc.

I should htink the goods will be stacking up !

I'll probably be doing a mass rug wash before I go too! So they will be sale-able.

Great Idea,

This is what I sent to them

'I wondered if you would be willing to put an appeal for donations to the Horse Trust, Redwings, the ILPH on the Rhyddid webiste, in order to help with the huge number of horses they've taken in the last two days as a result of the rescue operation in Amersham?'

Etc. etc.

I have been in discussion with my local riding club's secretary all afternoon on this. (I am on the committee) and we are having a huge drive on raising funds, gathering rugs/ first aid kit/etc. (We have a mailing list of all horsey people in the county) we are also targetting our local feed merchants, tackshop and vets- Hoping they will also act as local drop off points from which the club will coordinate delivery to the charities involved. We are involving our local paper too.
