Calling all Sussex people and your pics!

Helloooo...we are considering a major change of plan in terms of renting, and we may be looking at sussex to rent, particularly East sussex.

Could I possible have the low down on the hacking in the area, competition venues and general 'horseyness', please?

The high Weald/South Downs looks incredible....decent hacking, I would've thought?

Is the Ashdown forest nice too? Are all three places (The High Weald, South Downs and Ashdown) 'linkable' by riding, so you are not restricted to one area? Or would that not be an issue?

Any sussex hunters, too? Decent hunting days around? I only know West Sussex, really.

We would go there on weekends, so also any decente activities for non-horsey family much appreciated too! We'd like to get out and do stuff, so any ideas appreciated!

If anyone has any lovely photos of your sussex hacking/general sussex pics I would love to see them!

I am in East Sussex juat a the foot of the south downs.

Fab hacking fab hunting and a good few comp centres close by.

I live on edge of Ashdown Forest and hack on there you have to buy a pass £89 for the year but can ride on there all day and not double over your tracks

Family days out you have the coast 40 mins away, london about a hour by train, lots of castle, national trust property's. I have lived in East Sussex all my life and still places I have not been. Parts of the forest which i come across now and again that I dont know.

i live in east sussex and its great love it ! fanastic hacking excellent hunts ( very welcoming ) and plenty of none horsey things to do ! a far few compertishion venus with in easy reach to !

i live in west sussex and the hacking is also fab, so much to choice about where to go and i'm in hacking distanct of 2 competition grounds

Hi. I too am in West Sussex and the hacking is unsurpassable. We can go for hours only stopping for the pubs (much needed haha). We also have about 55 miles of uninterrupted bridleway offering tonnes of routes off of it. I have some photos, pm me your email and I am happy to share or feel free to add me on facebook. Hi, I live in East Sussex too, near Lewes. If you google the local hunt here, Southdown and Eridge, they have lots of photos on the site, you can see all the lovely countryside!! Also there are lots of competition venues - Golden Cross, Royal Leisure, S of England showground, Hickstead, Brendons, many riding clubs and pony clubs with their own venues, many XC courses within a reasonable drive. It's horsey heaven!!!
