Calling all welsh cob enthusiasts!

Thought it might be a nice idea to hear a little about you and yours!

They have to be the one of the most clever and interesting breeds! ;)

So.....what drives you mad about your Welshie!? And what do you love about them!? :)

Come on guys i'll start off! - this is our newest boy. Big and burly but don't let this deceive you! He is an utter pansy, who will turn tail and run if a 'killer' leaf blows across his path!

But we love him all the same - he is a big sensitive dope who loves routine, peace and quiet. He really tries hard for you when working and gives you a great feeling when he gets things right :)

Ive got a Section D dark bay 8 year old Gelding called Taboo (see my siggie for pic) Hes 14 hands but thinks he 16.2 !! :) lol
I love him to bits because after a very nasty/serious fall (from another welshie!!) Boo gave me the confidence to ride again.
As soon as I seen him in his stable (screaming at the top of his lungs!!) I knew I had to have him, even when he is really on his toes I feel safe on him.
I have done loads of things with him I never thought I would have the confidence to do again, like gallop flat out with other horses on the beach, ride him bare back, ride out alone , he's bombproof.
On the other hand he drives me mad when I pick his feet up he nibbles my bum and I cant tell him no for laughing!! He runs off brushes/leadropes/headcollars/buckets/sacks etc and I have to chase him!! If you have velcro on your riding boots he grabs the velcro and puts you on your bum!! If he decides he doesnt want to be in the field he will literally go through the fence (I just dunno how he does it!! as none of the others ever get out and the fence is intact!!) and he walks up to the yard and into the back garden then kitchen to say hello!! (no roads all private land) He is a really cheeky chappie and I wouldnt change him for the world!!! :)

I just love Welsh cobs :)

I've got a 2 year old filly, all bay bar a small stripe. She's currently 13.3hh and I was told she'll make 14.2hh.

She's a little madame, has a velcro fetish and is way too smart for her own good, but also has pure dumb blonde moments lol.

I adore her, she's my horse of a life time, have waited 19 years for my welsh cob, that's why I bought a foal, she's the last pony I plan on having, we will grow old ungracefully together and retire :D x

This is my baby Llanwnen Telynor (Menai Firework x Llanwnen Awel Haf)

aged 6 months

Beauty, 14.2hh twelve year old mare. I've had her since she was four and she's my best mate, utterly dependable and easy to do. :)

Straight from the field a couple of weeks ago:

4 year old, 15h. Very sharp and quirky but soo comical and cheeky! Love him to bits and wouldn't part with him for anything. Sorry pics are massive!

it's difficult to put Phil into words. He's definitely unique, falls into the Welsh Cob type in many ways and doesn't in others. He's not particularly bold, he takes his time learning and getting used to things and he's a little bit dim, but I wouldn't change him for the world. He's great with most people, will tolerate any rider and despite not being a confidence boosting horse per say we've shared so many experiences and any joy I've had with riding has all been down to him. You can take him out in a group, in pairs, on his own, he doesn't bolt or try to take off in open spaces, is (generally) well mannered, will jump, school, hack and lunge without a fuss. He's not a superstar, but he suits me to a T and I'd not be without him :o
