Calling Benson21!

He looks lovely - and the right sort for Benson21! Well found!!
My only prob is that I ''think'' after what happened to Benson (and understandably so), not sure if she wants a hack, more something that could do low level dressage? ((I may be wrong of course?)) - heres hoping that this horse can therefore trot and canter in an arena?
Fingers crossed.

C'mon Benson !!!

Hello! Looks a lovely type but do feel intimidated by the advert. I certainly will think about it, but I need an understanding seller, and not sure this one will be it. Also, I am just not sure a 15.2hh is going to be big enough for me, I suppose I am just used to riding something at 16.2hh, although as you say he looks as if he would ride bigger. hmm, pondering.... but thank you. xx

I don't like him... why on EARTH can't they take a photo of him standing flat? Unless it shows a fault or two?

I was wondering why both photo's were unlevel, agree on tone of seller, think they could be more diplomatic. They don't mention much about his level of schooling either.

They have been advertising this horse for over 6 months now, on and off. This is a toned down version of some of the earlier adverts.

I am fairly confident when I say that Benson should not even waste her time contacting them, one of the adverts had a weight limit on it - plus some comment about although he is a weight carrier they see not reason why he should.

Pity, because I am sure Benson would offer him a loving and caring home.

Yes the advert is rather PANTS! This seller has obviously got her knickers in a big twist! When I tried my big chestnut I probably looked like a tramp (jeans and hunter wellies that was approx. 9 years ago).
I would certainly ignore the negative parts of the advert and would still enquire about the horse just to see how many boxes he can tick. Nothing ventured is nothing gained and you can move on to the next horse. If the seller is rude on the phone – then I would frankly tell them and possibly advertise that they are a timewaster themselves! I think he will feel like a 16h-er. Is there anyone over in Kent who recognises the horse or rider?

Benson21...
Probably v silly question as I gather you are looking to buy, but where abouts are you based? My mum has 2 x happy hacking cobby dudes needing riderd, don't really want any contributions towards leep etc allthough shoeing would be helpful. They just need someone to love and fuss them and to go plodding on as mum has v bad back and can no longer ride.
Please note...These horses are NOT for sale, nor are they up for loan andnever will be...Just in need loving parents!
PM me if interested, I m in East sussex

Hi, thats really lovely of you, but I am in Ashford in Kent, not too much of a problem but I am definately not a hacker! At the moment I also have a bad back, broken 12 weeks ago when a car hit me and my horse when I was hacking out with a friend, hence me never hacking again!!! But thank you, its a lovely thought. xx

blimey that ad is rather rude, what a shame what a lovely looking horse.

What is it besides being a weight carrier you after Benson? I know someone in kent who buys and sells a little she might know of something I could ask for you.

I am looking for a 16hh-16.3hh, 100% safe weight carrier. not too young, no younger than about 10, that is going to rebuild my confidence after a nasty accident. I have got a limit of £3000, My problem is now, although in my heart I know I am wanting another horse, in my head I keep finding reasons not to go and see the ones people are finding for me. I want another horse to love, I think I am just scared.

what a gorgeous horse. What an AWFUL advert. I would never reply to an ad like that. Even if it was my dreeeeam horse. What goes through people's minds when they srite stuff like that.
Perhaps the owner has been told by OH that she HAS to sell the horse but she doesn't really want to...? So she wrote that advert and told him she's trying her best...? :)

That is the conclusion my OH and I came to when discussing her adverts :)

ah...Ok - sorry, was rather lazy and couldn't be bothered to look back through old posts to see what exactly you were looking for, just noticed that people are finding you hairies!

My other home ( OH's stud - we have to swap between the two until log cabin is built and all horses are in one place ) is in Ashford, Kent...Well, High Halden so just outside, totally off topic *sorry* but now know u r just down the road! : )

Having read the advert I think I must disagree with some of you - yes the advert does come across as a bit rude - but - having helped someone who advertised a horse in the past and dealt with numerous idiotic timewasters who either:

a) had no idea what they were doing - or were in any way shape or form capable of looking after a toy horse let alone a real one ("why has it got that metal thing in its mouth") I kid you not!!!
b) were bored and just wanted something to do on the weekend and had no intention of actually buying/loaning
c) was wearing the right gear but were horrified at maybe having to wear their new, expensive, designer boots on a slightly muddy yard, the horse had just been brought in for them from the field and seemed more intent on discovering whether the horse's colouring would go with the clothing they had just bought

Perhaps this advert is just from someone who only wants those people who are seriously looking and are capable of looking after a much loved horse and will provide a loving, knowledgeable and caring home and not just idiots and timewasters.

On another point I hear what you say Benson about being scared - whilst sometimes "getting straight back on" is the way to go, perhaps with your current back problem it might be a good idea to wait a bit and when you are more confident go looking with a vengeance, there are plenty of people on this forum who will help you find the "right" one, just sometimes it takes longer than we want.

I wish you well and hope that your dream horse is just around the corner, or perhaps around the next one after that.
