well i used Global Herbs (cant remember the name) one on archie and id didnt do a thing. However i use two of their other products on Bloss for her pollen allergy and they work really well.........

TB - total lunatic, throws itself about in any direction if it doesnt get its own way, panics on its own, gets soaking with excitement if travelled without calmer. Bucks like a trooper!

I used So Kalm Paste by American Equine brilliant and worked within an hour. Will be using it again.

Calmers in food daily dont make a jot of difference to this chap, but top up calmers on the day = big difference

I use the NAF Magic calmer and it really is magic

I don't use it coz he's hyper but helps him concentrate when working and not thinking about which blade of grass to spook at!

I should have asked u in a previous post I had with you sorry, but would that So Kalm be OK to use with his daily calmer??

Well, i have not found one that works yet ! not that he is a nutter or anything, but he does panic alot when he see one horse go out the yard, he thinks he is missing out ! and he also throws a right wobbler if he is out in the filed and another horse escapes ! and alot of the time his concentration level is low, as he is more worried about what else is going on around him and what he is missing out on ! oh and also he is being a shite to hack out as he gets so excited !

I have just bought Naf Magic, but i feel im throwing money down the drain, he is on America So Kalm at present !

I'm the same as ZoeandOscar... I use NAF magic and the first three weeks there was a huge difference but the last couple haven't been hugely better. He's still on it and it has chilled him a bit for work but only made a small difference hacking and leading. He's a spooky beggar at the best of times

All that said though I would definitely recommend it.

I know a couple of people on our yard tried the NAF and it didnt work either. Think it must be different on each horse. I firstly tried TopSpec calmer but found it made no difference. Ive been told its the magnesium content that makes the difference but think its trial and error to be honest...

I had Lillie on Nupafeed, I tried everything at the time and it was the only one that worked!! I tried Bailey on NAF Magic has'nt made any difference at all.

I was using Feel good 30 Science Formula Calming on my 3.5 yr old Polish Warmblood when we had restricted turnout and it helped a lot with him

Only one of my three needs any kind of calmer, that is the DalesX mare who is on a daily magnesium suppliment. We ran out last week..for a few days I didn't notice a real change and then she turned into a fire snorting dragon in the field and was dangerous to catch and very lively to ride..so she is back on her magnesium and chilled out again.

I know never to run out, ever, in the future

I just tried topspec calmer, and this made no difference to my tb who gets overly exited at times and becomes stupid. I think nupafeed is meant to be very good, quite expensive though. Im trialing and erring!!

Cob - bolts - spins round in road - generally quite rude - now feeding him Brewers Yeast - made all the difference in the world!!!

New Forest. Very whizzy and tense. The type that is really difficult to get your leg round and work properly and get him to relax.

After using NAF Magic for 4 days there was a great improvement and now you can immediately get your leg around him and he will relax after being worked in.

I've got a stressy ID who tends overreacts to anything that worries him or if he makes a mistake.

I find Feel Good 30Science Formula calmer is by far the best that I've tried, it certainly doesn't make him dopey but it does seem to keep him more relaxed & if things go wrong he stays calm enough to listen rather that immediately panicking.

I tried NAF Magic but it really wasn't enough for him & he started getting edgy & jumpy after a week or so, also it was difficult getting him to eat it. Top Spec calmer was apparently poison so I can't say how well that would have worked! The couple of herbal mixes had no real effect (they were valerian free ones). Calmag helped a bit but less effective than FG30.

I've been using Hilton Herbs, Temperamend, for the last 4 weeks and I've noticed a slight change in Bud, am feeding 2 of the enclosed scoops per day and so far so good, its not overly expensive and takes approx 2 - 3 weeks to get into their system.

Like others, I'm trialling calmers to see which is best, however when out dressaging, he also has So Kalm paste just to take the edge off as he still thinks hes a racehorse!!!

Have tried brewers yeast, magnesium based calmers with no effect on daughters 6 yr old warmblood who bunny reared and reared and could be strong, esp when jumping.Have put her Good as Gold and you know what she has been(touch wood)!Big change now gets ridden in happy mouth hanging cheek(was on last ring of 'bubble' bit)
Daughter even thinks I can have a go on her.yippee!!
Good as Gold has much same ingredients as So Kalm (tryptophan b vits)give her 1 scoop a day for maintainance dose,2 scoops for shows.Am so glad I tried it

I use Feel Good 30's Hormonal mare, which makes a BIG difference to her behaviour. On dressage outings she has a So Kalm powder extra 'For Attitude'!!! I have tried several different calmers but none worked on the orange stroppy madam!

Horse on the yard wasn't touched by Magic and uses Steady Up - didn't think it was doing much till they ran out and got bucked off in the ring... so now THEY won't run out either...

seems as if different things work for different horses and you just need to keep trying.

There's a liquid one that Richard Maxwell recommends - but I can't remember what it's called - anyone else know it?
