My event horse is currently on the NAF Magic, but I have decided to change onto the Horse First Relax me. I was wondering what the best way is to switch calmers? The Relax me reccommends you feed a loading dose of 4 scoops a day for the first 5-10 days, but as my horse is already on a calmer I am worried changing to a loading dose of the Relax me may knock him out too much!!!!!!!!

Why are you switching calmer? If the Naf Magic is working I would be tempted to stick with it. If it isn't working you will need to do the loading dose.

Magnesium calmers will only work if the horse is magnesium deficient.

Before using a calmer I would look to make changes to the horse's management to find a less stressful way of keeping him wherever possible.

I'm changing as my horse has been on Magic for 2 years, but over the past few months he has been getting stressy again when doing Dressage. Vet, saddles, teeth, back, bitting, diet, and management etc all checked. So on the advice of my instructor, and various reccommendations I have decided to try the relax me, and see if it helps him just to chill a little bit more between the white boards!
