I have just tried Thoroughbred Calmer by Global herbs but it did the opposite - he went loopy. Anyone tried as Good as Gold by TRM?

I've had my sensitive 6 year old on Winergy Equilibrium for about 3 weeks, and I am cautiously optimistic that it has made a difference to him. It comes in different energy levels, I have my horse on the low starch. He still has plenty of energy, but seems to have lost his extreme reaction to spooky and scary situations.

i tried most on our tb. the ones that worked had tryptophan(sorry about spelling) in as well as magnesium. magic or nupafees did not work on her.

Hi, I put my13 year old mare on top spec calmer at xmas, and she is so much better, she was getting so stressed, it has settled her down in the field and we have had a lot less poaching where she used to fence walk or gallop about, a lot less wind sucking, comes in quieter and is so much better when its windy, rides much the same though, took her for a 10 mile pleasure ride sunday, and she didnt get sweated up in the lorry and was very calm with all the other horses, but still with the same exuberance and bounce as normal when ridden. I have heard magic is good too, but more expensive than topspec. I am hoping to reduce the amount through the summer then increase it again in the winter as she is usually much better when the weather is warm and calm.

Our pony went loopy on the Global Herbs calmer

Global herbs do state that initially the calmer can have the opposite effect. Keep this in mind and finish a tub and I can assure you, you will be amazed. Its the only one I have found that has ever worked!!!

The only calmer i have ever found that works is cool calm and collected by equifeast, this is not a herbal calmer like most, have alook at the website and it explains why it works, most herbal supplements are a herbal sedation, this is not.
You also need to make sure you are not feeding a starchy feed which may hype a horse up, check out their website, it changed my horse from a lunatic to relativly sensible!!

That is the first time I have heard of this – mine went a bit funny the first day but then was so much more relaxed and is now on maintenance rate with top ups if do anything more exciting. Can now ride him in the wind and rain (in the school) without him going berserk. Everyone else I know who has tried has said similar.
Have you tried all the magnesium ones to see if it is a magnesium deficiency? You could try calmag (available from ebay) or MagOx? (the GH TB calmer is not a magnesium one.) Have assumed that you are feeding low starch high fibre diet etc. etc
