My horse is gradually going back into work following 8 weeks off due to a tendon injury, has anyone tried any calmers out there that actually made some difference? We had our first 25 min walk ride this morning and was quite a good boy bless him though a bit excited and just wondered if maybe anything might take the edge off (she asks hopefully!!) Thanks in advance

global herbs do lots of different ones for different types of excitement. they are very good you

Naff Magic seems to work for mine. I couldn't do much with him when he first arrived and went in with the herd but after about 10 days on the calmer he was a lot less anxious.

Equine America So Kalm. Stick the powder in the feed if needed every day, and give the paste (or a double dose of powder in a handful of chaff) 30-60 mins before you ride. It really works on my mare.
But... TBH you need to try some out and find which one works on your particular horse!

I tried various calmers with my Han x TB & none of them seemed to do anything. The only way my lad calmed down was schooling him. The more schooling he had, the more relaxed & balanced he became & the more relaxed & easy with things that he is now. Don't get me wrong, he hasn't turned into a plod, he is still lively, athletic & powerful but when we want him to be.

Brilliant stuff but expensive. It isnt really a supplement though, its fed the night before and then again a few hours before.
