calmer supplements

Hello. I was hoping to get some advise on calming supplements. I have a couple of horses 1 is just a little bit sharp or hot headed she is about 16.1 and 5yold and the other is now 7 and 17.2, a good showjumper and is jumping coarses of 130m but is a bit nervous and very spooky does anyone have any advise on which supplement would be best or what has worked for you?

i would try herbal calmers. They work a treat! Try Hilton Herbs or Super Calm or just search on any horse supply website herbal calmers - don't use all that factory made stuff, sometimes horses don't like them and they don't often work as well as herbs. I would definitely give herbs a go - they worked a treat on my 5 year old british riding pony! And good news - herbs work on ANY horse! So both your horses will be fine on any herbal supplement you give them. Hope this helped!

I used 'relax me' too- found it very useful for my boy.

I use the topspec calmer on one of ours and it's worked wonders, takes the edge off (he's a nervous spooky type who takes everything to extremes) but doesn't slow him down or affect performance like I found quite a few to do. Noticed a big change in him! Some calmers work better than others on different horses so it's a bit trial and error until you find something that works, but topspec's been the best for me personally.
