I have tried naf magic and exstress they work for a bit then dont. I just need something to take the edge of hacking he doesnt scare me but is a bit spooky sometimes and therefore gets tense i know its because he is not that brave, i dont tell him off just sit there then he waves head up and down again tense thing. Just wondered if there is anything i can give him just before i go for a hack. Thanks.x

I use Mentax (Trinity Consultants) but you have to feed it every day and it's the best I have tried. My mare can be silly out too and almosts self induces spooks and with traffic as it is, I think I will give anything a go. She does n't travel well and I have tried all sorts of "instant" remedies but not much good. Be interested to watch this thread.

I use Equine America calmer which really worked well on my boy when it was needed, sadly he didn't have it the morning he panicked at the sheep being moved and gave himself a huge injury, silly arse! But all better now and when I get back on him I'll use it again but being a tad of a thickie I can't remember its name, the calmer that is, not my horse!!!!

I use cammomile tea bags! =] We just empty the bag into the bowl, leave it in a bit of boiling water for a few mins then chuck the feed in. I found they work the best for my mare, and it's alot cheaper too!

ETA: We've also used the one from feedmark, which I cant remember, but that was very good too!

I think you mean Equine America So Kalm Plus - it has L Tryptophan in it which a a well reseached compound ((researched in humans) that acts on neurochemicals. I think its great too

iv not long started using dodson and horrell Placid supplement on my gelding, he got very stressed due to an accident which means he now has to be stabled, he's very claustraphobic and loved living out full time. the supplement seems to be helping but i suppose it depends on the situation with the individual horse, have a look on their website for more info!
