Calmers- valerion?

Valeronic Acid (in valerian, the calming bit) works so well it is banned under competition rules. So a no go if you plan to compete. Personally, stay away from ANYTHING that doesn't state all of the ingredients on the back. 'Appetising and aromatic herbs' doesn't count. The brand I found to work best is the James Hart ones, who sell the strongest herbal supplements out there. (PM me if you would like some of my annecdotes, I don't want to be seen to be advertising) But they do a Valerian supplement, a supplement for increased attention (originally developed for children in a classroom!) and one for increased co-operation as well as a competition legal calmer.
Nupafeed is good, but it's important to remember that Magnesium only calms a magnesium deficient horse, which isn't common this time of the year unless you are feeding oats, which could affect how they metabolise magnesium. (Correct me if I'm wrong there, I'm fairly sure though)

PS, I'm going to start a herbalism course when I finish college which is why I have done a bit of research, I have nothing to do with the above companies :D
