I know people are always asking which (if any) calmers work - and I think the answer is 'it depends on the horse', you need to try them to see.

But my question is, does anyone know of a calmer that comes as a 'treat' (I believe there is an American Science one that comes in a treat bar)? Something that you could just keep in your pocket and give quickly?

I've only used the Naff Instant Magic calmers for when Magic first started going out. They are the paste ones that you give in a syringe like wormer.

Easy to administer, although he didn't like the taste and I had to hold his head up for a while before he gave in and swallowed it!!

Worked a treat :D

Sorry dont know of any that come like a treat but i can strongly recommend the Equistro mag calmer. Its about 35.00 a tub but deff works!!! go online for stockist as most places that stock are mail order.

I don't know of any treat ones. There are various paste ones but they usually need to be given an hour before anything exciting happens.

I have to say though that I've tried several in the past with previous horses and not found any that worked. Time and discipline was what made the difference in the end.
