Any one got any good insite on calmers for tricky sharp mares
Mine bites and kicks all time when handled (yes had everything checked)
Reluctant to school or hack and can be sharp

Tried Magic - works ok takes the edge off but she is still quite reluctant generally

She is on regumate - not sure it helps much
Tried Oestrus - doubt it helps that much

Love anyones feedback

Thanks

My mare used to be on Regumate with her last owner but I don't use it.

I've used Naf Magic and Blue Chip Calmer but they didn't seem to work. I also tried mag ox but she refused to eat it so not sure about that. About 4 months ago I tried Nupafeed and it's brilliant, she is very spooky which makes her tense then she goes stupid. Since she's been on Nupafeed she's been great, I think it makes her think and listen to me and she's deffinately more calm.

Had mine on regumate and it did help so she had marble inserted and has been lovely since.Supacalm from global herbs really helped as well were nothing else made a difference. She is really sweet to handle now, previously hated being groomed around her flanks and was grumpy when rugs changed. She is still sensitive and sharp but 100% better.

thanks I have also looked at global herbs but mare does not always take their's as she does not get much dinner to mix and its quite smelly

The vet is not sure Marble will work on her so not sure I want the expense at the mo

thanks for the help

Gaelann, look also into Topspec calmers, have heard very good things about them. They have a webpage, and a very good helpline.
