Does anyone have any recommendations on a calmer?
I tried Natural horse supplies magnesium oxide along with brewers yeast & their herbal calm pack to no avail. :(
My horse is ridiculously spooky, nappy and highly strung, I just want him to 'chill out!'
Any reccomendations? I've heard good things about super calm herbal calm?

I have been using magic liquid for about a year - I did think it made a difference at first but now I think I just use it as routine.... she is still a stress head .... I am going to try Horse First Relax-me as I have heard good things about it!

Global herbs supercalm and their firework one has worked amazingly for my stress head gelding. Every few yards he'd nap and then after he'd been on it for a few days it was like riding a different horse. He'd improved by 90%. I was pessimistic about it working but it honestly worked.

One of Mine is on magic. It is so hard to say what has made the difference with her but she is rideable again and I'm too scared to take her off it. I make sure I never run out!

If that hadn't worked I was going to try nupafeed

I second this, Global Herbs supercalm is amazing stuff :)

I wonder if anyone has any experience of Equine Science Calmer bars? I wanted something that would be easy to give (they are like a treat bar) and reassure a nervous horse. I had long conversations with the lady at ES who assured me that the calmers would work for Hugo as his problem was lack of confidence. However, we never got round to using them as he seemed to sort himself out!! ;) I'll save them for emergencies now!

I have also used some stuff called PAX (look it up on internet), which is a spray you put on your hands. Hugo had a bit of clip the other day and was really not happy! Now, I don't know if it was just that he'd got used to the clippers by the time I put the stuff on, but he really calmed down and let my friend give him a trim!

Each horse is different, I have tried every single calmer on the planet on my little horse over the last 6 1/2 years and nothing short of a shot of valium will ever do anything for him. At the moment he is on a liquid called Tranquil, I think it is helping for the moment, he is still a stresshead but I daren't not take him off them.
