I'm thinking of putting my mare on a supplement soon to help control her hormones.

I've been told that Oestress is good but wondered if you guys have had any experience of either that one or different ones and whether they have made a difference to your mares.

I don't know an awful lot about hormonal supplements so i'm about to have a read up about them, but wondered if any of you have had first hand experience!

All comments welcome :) Thanks guys!

You could also try Moody Mare.

If none of the supplements work you could always try her on Regumate (however its quite expensive).

None of the above even touched my mare so I just take her as she is now and dont compete her when shes in season as its not worth the battle!

Maybe have a chat with your vet and see if they can make some recommendations.

I used Oestress and it didn't work at all! My mare, who normally ears anything, wouldnt touch her feed when it was in there!

If I was to reccomend anything, I would say Stroppy Mare by Dodson and Horrell. It works wonders and is way cheaper than oestress! It is a natural herb supplement that is in one word...brilliant! I'll give you an example of how good it is..Before my mare was on this, she got loose and ran off down the lane! but I know for a fact that she wouldn't dream of doing anything like this!

Hope this helps :)
