So, I've had Cameo for 7 weeks and 2 days now, and I'm struggling to find anything wrong with him. I really can't believe I got so lucky and he already has his own little fan club. :)

So far we've had a few lessons together, son has had one lesson and one PC rally (only the third time he rode Cameo), I've taken him to our local equestrian centre for schooling several times, he's been to another local equestrian centre for a W&T test and came 3rd with 66%. I'm totally in love and grin like a Cheshire cat when I ride him. He really hasn't put a foot wrong (yet!). :p

Around the yard he's like an old cart horse - hard to believe he's only turned 5 since I got him. He's had the saddler out, had his teeth done, the farrier (3 times  - he lost a couple of nails after the first time, then the shoe, but I think we've sorted that issue now :)).

We're still working on trying to find his waistline, but I think he's looking a bit trimmer now. So here's a picture - gentle cc ok, but please don't burst my bubble too much as I've waited a long time to have a horse like this. :o

And here he is in one of his even more chilled out than normal moods:

Thanks for reading! :) xx

What a lovely looking boy :D
So glad you've found exactly what you're looking for!!
Not sure if it's me or the picture (or not there at all!!), but he looks a LITTLE bit bum high in the pic, do you think he'll grow anymore?

Thanks for sharing the lovely pics :)

Thank you - yes he is still bum high. He has no withers yet to speak of so I reckon he'll go up at least another inch, maybe more. He's 1/2 Connie, 1/4 ID and 1/4 TB so probably a fairly late developer and has not real back end yet. :)

I think he and Alf need to meet, so that Cameo can tell the old fool how much nicer life is when you don't act like there are firebreathing dragons round every corner!

He's just an absolute corker isn't he?
I think he looks gorgeous and it's lovely to hear you so happy. :)

Although judging by the 2nd picture you are obviously wearing him out too much. He best come and live with me :D:D:D

Thanks everyone for all the lovely comments. I love him to pieces. :)

Once a nutter, always a nutter in my opinion!!

He ain't going nowhere! :)

You know I like him, but he really is lovely. Some horses just 'fit in' from day 1, like they were meant to be x

You're so right - and it really was just fate to have the advert emailed to me. I will be forever thankful to that person - she knows who she is (I know she comes on here, but I don't know her username!). :)

I do like your Cam updates. He looks positively svelte compared to lots of horses I know ! So nice to hear things are going well, sometimes they just come with an ole head on young shoulders. I love the chillaxing piccie :)

He needs to meet my Jimmy now! Found another field for July so box over and we'll go Inkpen/Coombe hacking! Looking forward to meeting him, he's looking fab! X

He sounds awsome, remember your post when you bought him and I really liked him then too! Fancy a bit of horse shopping? I want a neddy just like Cameo but keep coming up with blanks :(

Hes lovely :D and I think you are all going to have a great time with him in the future!

Sorry aus I had to giggle! You go buy your self a schoolmaster and he turns out madder than the 4yo you found some one else :p

I didn't find Cameo - someone else has that honour! I just went along to be nosy!
Alf's still a fab schoolmaster - once you're on board - it's just everything else that freaks him out! Luckily my son seems to have lost interest in the idea of riding him, so I didn't need a sensible old donkey anyway!!

You want to get Auslander to help you, shame you're a bit far from her :D

Yes, definitely get Aus to help. She even puts up with driving rain as long as you take her to the local garden centre to warm up afterwards! :p

Except that I seem to have managed to buy myself a raving loony since! Might have lost my touch!

I do feel I'm going to get the blame for all this at some point.....;)

And very grateful I was to have you being nosy! It was one of those perfect situations where everything, and everyone fell into place. As Rhino said - it was just meant to be. Even my dear old girl left me at the right time - one of the few times we actually reached a decision together. :(

Thanks for all the new comments - sorry if I miss someone out, they are all appreciated. :)

Thanks! And you're doing well with Tinky as well - something in the air in this part of Berkshire obviously!

Jimmy and Cameo would make a stunning pair! But we musn't forget the Rafter! Hopefully we can meet up when you are off work. :)

Post a wanted advert in Horsequest - I had many recommendations to do that and there were a couple of responses I had that were definite possibilities. Then share that advert with everyone you know - facebook, email etc. That's how I got the ad for Cam forwarded to me. Good luck. :)

Ditto this. It's thanks to Niki/all Niki's fault that I did the same, and had some great responses about some fantastic horses. And one about Alf...:D

He's lovely and I agree he definitely looks like he's going to grow some more yet.

So lovely to read a happy story about a new horse on here. Congratulations and I hope you have lots of wonderful years with him. Of course you may find his stamina increases with age so you won't tire him out so much in years to come ;) Enjoy :)
