My dear beautiful Camilla has gone - she was the bestest little pet sheepie in the world - hand reared and completely tame and a mummy's girl....

She was attacked on Sunday night - we believe by the new shetland pony in the field (who, it now becomes apparant, has previous.....)

What a pointless loss.....I wish wish wish the owners had answered my question about whether he was OK with sheep honestly - we have loads of room and I could have put him/the sheep in another field no trouble....but instead my dear Camilla was subjected to a savage attack and despite the vet's best care and constant nursing, she died this afternoon.... I am in pieces.....she saw me thru loss of my old horse last year and has been a true chum and a big personality...i cannot belive that she has gone.

I know that she was only a sheep, but she was a big part of my life in a funny sort of way, and my chum thru loss of old horse and old dog before him.....she was only 2 and half and had her life before her.....

Dear dear Camilla.....rest quiestly my precious girl......

Oh how awful. I'm sorry

Poor Camilla - I'm sorry to hear that. I'm afraid sheep don't cope well with shock - I lost an old favourite ewe after she was attacked by a fox when cast (he bit a chunk out of her elbow.) Despite antibiotics and lots of TLC, she died 5 days later.

You can get VERY fond of sheep when they're tame!

I am so sorry for you so <<<<< hugs >>>>>>>
On the Farm where I keep my boys, they have one pet sheep left, called Littley and she says hello to me every morning, she is the last one left out of the original herd of 80 plus when I came to this farm over 14 years ago...... I even have her Baaaaaa as my wake up call, as I am so attached to her! So I can fully understand how distraught you must feel in the circumstances

... and I will be so very sad when my friend goes, so so sorry for you

The little sheep in my siggie is for my Littley but I can dedicated it to Camilla if you wish .....

So sorry to hear of this Catherine. Why couldn't the shetlands owners just have been truthful. I know that its probably the wrong thing at the moment but if you would like a pet lamb next spring feel free to contact us. We usually have a spare lamb or so.

I am extremely sorry to hear that, RIP camilla. Huge hugs.

Just out of my own peace of mind before slating owner of shettie who probably attacked it on the defense....had it done this before to a sheep?
