Hello :)
Does anybody have any recommendations / advice for finding somewhere cheap and relatively nearby to stay for the duration of Burghley this year?
Thanks in advance :D

Unfortunately I think you may struggle. Burghley week is normally booked up solid and prices will be higher than normal. Good luck though

What you after tent or caravan? Try sacrewell farm, I'm about 25 miles away thinking of going two days could find corner of field if helps.

We camped at Wing Hall in the Rutland valley, about 10 miles from Burghley. A really serene beautiful place with a gorgeous farm shop and bistro. We went there because it was too late to get into the Burghley caravan site, but it was so lovely and the showers etc were so much better that we decided that we will always go to that site. Not a place for party animals though.

As for B&B, six years ago we did B&B for the whole thing, and we only booked it 3 weeks before the event. A lot of locals open up their houses just for that weekend as B&Bs.

Your best bet is to contact Stamford Tourist Office - they gave us contacts for both of the above, they are very helpful.
