Has anyone done this before? Are the campsites on the estate and if so how much are camping tix for the whole weekend?

5 of us are looking to make a weekend of it and would love to stay and camp! :)

The site is opposite the entrance . 2013 prices not on the website yet but 2012 prices were

Standard Pitch (7m frontage x 8m depth) to include 2 Campsite / Personal Admission Badges £195
Small Pitch (4m frontage x 5m depth) to include 2 Campsite / Personal Admission Badges £140
(NB if your tent or vehicle is larger than a Standard or Small Pitch, please telephone the Box Office for prices and special arrangements.

Additional Campsite/Season (whole event) Public Car Pass £28
(only available to those booking or having booked a camping site)

Additional Campsite /Personal Admission (whole event) badge: £45

Ok so if there's 5 of us in a big tent we'd need a standard pitch, and for 195 we'd get the camping and two weekend passes (stop me if I'm doing wrong) and then for each additional person to camp + their entry passes its 45pound?

So for 5 people to camp all weekend its 330? (Subject to prices changing next year)

Thank you x

I did it about 5 years ago with a friend- we seemed to be only one of a few people camping! Most people were in motorhomes/caravans etc.
We enjoyed it though- shower and toilet facilities are OK and it isn't far to walk to the actual horse trials. We went to nearby hotels/pubs etc to eat at night and bought brekkie/lunch at horse trials during the day.
Found the campsite attendants to be friendly and helpful. Would defo do it again.

We camp every year, the one thing I would say is it's not a 'proper' campsite so no electric hookups, portaloos and porta showers (queues can be massive for showers). We always cook breakfast and supper but there are pubs nearby. Last year they were very strict on pitch size, we had to shuffle the truck around even though there was loads of room. There is a shop onsite that is open morning and evening so you can buy food daily as well as a burger van and a gas man to change gas bottles if needed. Prices have gone up every year so I imagine it will be slightly more next year - we go for 5 nights so it's not a bad price each though :)

The prices I put up for camping cover the whole event and I dont think you can just pay for weekend camping so yes 5 people based on 2012 prices would be £330. The campsite badge also entitles parking on the main car parks for the event but its easier to walk across.
