Hi everyone, we are planning to camp at Badminton this year, for the first time, to celebrate my 40th  I'm super excited.

Does anyone know if, provided it fits within the pitch, you can pitch a tent next to a motor home? we are just working out how to fit everyone in without us all being in completely different fields!

All advice welcome - thank you!!

We go with our caravan nearly every year.
The pitches aren't huge and we have a 5 berth caravan with an awning and I'm not sure we would fit that and our vehicle on the pitch as well as a tent.
I guess it depends how big your motorhome is .They are quite strict on keeping the access clear and not having any part or the vehicle off the pitches.
I have seen some very small tents pitched alongside a caravan motorhome I think they are what they call pup tents.
Hae you got an awning that people could use as a sleeping area..
The dimensions of the pitches are on there so you could measure it out and get an idea of what size you are looking at.

Thanks @setterlover, we have worked out that everything will fit (it's not a massive tent) but I wasn't sure of the rules...i.e whether we were  allowed to pitch a tent in the motorhome field (even if it is part of the motor home pitch) - if that makes any sense!

Sounds a bit like it would be fine as long as it is all kept strictly within the pitch area?

You will need to book a separate pitch for the tent , due to campsite rules that there needs to be 3 mtrs between pitches for fire regulations

We have definitely seen very small 2 man tents that would be just to sleep in alongside caravans/camper vans .Not full size tents.
If your motorhome will take and awning (with an inner enclosed part ) People could use that as a sleeping area and I have definitely seen that and it could be the answer to fitting more people in .
Our awning for our caravan is enormous and 4 people could definitely sleep in that easily.

It will all depend on how the camping area is "policed" as it is illegal to sleep in an awning on normal campsites.
I do know my stuff as I'm a warden on a campsite !

You can absolutely have a motor home and a tent on a standard pitch. Many do it as they don't have a car so can fit both in. You can sleep in an awning - there are some rules but not about where you can sleep! Some sleep in their car (especially if they have celebrated a little too much after XC day and can't drive).

The only " policing,." I have experienced is marshalls checking that the access ways and walk ways between the pitches are clear so all vehicles tents caravans and motorhomes are within the pitch markings other than that it really isn't regimented like a commercial campsite they are very relaxed .
