Hi,
Does anyone out there know of campsites that take horses? I know there is some B&B's offer it , but we are looking at using our horsebox as a glorified campervan in the North East of England/Cumbria
Our plan is to go off peak when quiet and know of one possibilty at Ullswater, Cumbria but surely there must be others that would consider it

Perhaps contact the local tourist board in that area, and see if there are any farms that do B&B - I'm sure they could find a field you could use if the hay is in...

I went on a camping/riding holiday in Devon many years ago, I knew where I wanted to go & that there was a riding school in the village.
So I rang them asking if they would take our horses for the week & if there was a campsite near, it turned out there was a campsite next door so I booked the livery & campsite separately.
It might be worth finding a riding school or trekking centre in the area you want & asking them if they will take the horses & if there is somewhere to camp near by.
Good luck.

The BHS do a book called Bed and Breakfast for Horse and Rider which will help you as most of them will accomodate a horsebox with people living in it and grazing for horses.
