Camrosa ointment? for injuries and sarcoids?

Just wondering who has used this and what you used it for?

One of my horses has what looks to be a sarcoid, although could be a wart, on his chest and I was wondering if anyone has used the ointment to help treat them?
Vet is coming on Friday to confirm what the 'wart' is.

Also the same horse has someone managed to get a big gash on his pastern, looks like a wire cut, its quite deep but is scabbing over nicely and he isnt lame on it.

Im wondering if Camrosa would be good in helping that heal too as the pics on the website seem to show it minimises scarring?

finally for those who use it, did you buy the starter pack with the shampoo and ointment remover too?

Camrosa (which we have used successfully on scar tissue) was originally intended as a midge repellant. It's said to be "non medicinal" so no idea if it has been independently tested. Some people have reported problems. Apparently it has been linked to causing sarcoids and cancer to form in the wounds. Some vets are trying to get it banned. Having said all that, we would still consider using it on scar tissue but not long term.

FMM - Sorry for potentially nicking the thread!! But.. could you give me more info on the vets trying to ban it for causing cancer and sarcoids? I have 3 pots of it (not in use at the mo) and have had good results with it on sarcoids in the past but followed the instructions to the letter. Oh and I recommend (if you carry on and use it) getting the whole starter pack!

I've used it with great success on a sarcoid a mare of mine had on the corner of her eye. cleared it up completely.

How long do you think is too long? I'd not heard vets were trying to ban it; I thought (and Tia got a list of the ingredients) that it was entirely natural and harmless?! I've got a pot of the stuff I use quite generously on cuts, etc...

Hmm never heard of the cancer thing, I too thought it was a totally natural product?

I've used it for many years and always had terrific success with it from sarcoids right down to mudfever. It's great!

Yes found it very good but a bit messy and you have to take it off with their remover and shampoo but it seems good stuff.
The best treatment for sarcoids is the liverpool cream but your vet will advise on that

I haven't used it but a friend used it on sarcoids on the chest of her grey gelding. She applied it to the sarcoid & also for several inches around it. The sarcoids went eventually, there's just a small scar there now. Wether they would have gone anyway I don't know, but if my lad developed them I would definately give it a go.

Thank you, Im going to give it a go, espec because of the nasty wound my boy has on his pastern, hopefully it will help reduce scarring, and keep the flies and dirt out while it heals.

Well I will take some before during and after pics of sarcoid to see if it works!

Vet is coming tomorrow so will get him to confirm it is a sarcoid first!

I used Cut Heal on my boys sarcoid which went all gross last year (oozing / red raw etc.) - healed it right up and actually shrunk it to the point I can very barely see it! But I think this would only work for open wounds, rather than a usual sarcoid as such. I believe if you get your vet, you can get some cream from Liverpool University which clears it right up.

Hi there !

My boy had 3 sarcoids it got rid of 2, But then he started having an illergic reaction to the oinment.

The sarcoid I was treating was on the inside of his groin, The hair on his belly and groin started to come out in clumps and went red raw and was very painful.

I thought this was strange as I had been using it for about 10 months prior to this, So had to stop using it.

It does say to do a test on a bit of hair/skin b4 starting the treatment, Which I did when I started.

This Liverpool cream, how expensive is it and how many times does the vet need to come out to apply it?
If its going to be very expensive I know what I will be trying first!

My boy's got a small papilloma on his sheath which the vet noted as pre-sarcoid. Do you think I could use something like this to get rid of it or should I let nature take it's course?

My mare has had a very nasty sarcoid on her chest growing rapidly over the winter. It got to the size of a golf ball cut in half and was red raw due to rugs rubbing. It got so bad that I had to stop riding her. Last week I bought some Sarc Ex cream as a last resort and this is no joke within 3 days of putting it on once a day the sarcoid just sort of exploded. This was 2 days ago and the wound where the sarcoid was is clearing up nicely.
Basically the sarcoid was solid and red raw but the morning after the 1st application I was suprised to notice that it has started to look sort of like a cauliflower, a bit like your fingers go when they have been in water too long. The 2nd day it was visibly smaller and even more like a cauliflower. The 3rd morning the whole thing had come off and there was just a great big hole. This is now what I am tending to and it is already starting to heal nicely. No guarantees it will not grow back but I was absolutely amazed.

Never used it on sarcoids but have used it with superb success on my mare's back. She had 7yr old scarring from rainscald and her hair is growing back beautifully!

I can't recommend it enough!
