I am thinking about getting some Camrosa for my horse. He has strangles and all the hair on the underside of his head is now totally bald and he has 2 huge holes from abcesses. When the holes have healed I plan to put it on to encourage the regroth of hair and reduce scarring.

So do I need to get the whole starter pack or can I just get the ointment? Is it really that difficult to remove the cream that I need to get the remover?

Also do I need to wait until the wound has healed before I apply the ointment? I am presuming this will be explained in the instructions but I just wondered.

I used it for some mystery scabs on my mare last year - nothing the vets gave us worked. I got the starter pack because you are supposed to shampoo the area with the camrosa shampoo so nothing contaminates the ointment. And I definitely found it easier to get off with the remover. The lady I spoke to when I ordered it was pretty helpful - could your vet maybe advise about whether it would be a good thing to try and if it would be okay to put anything on the wounds?

Thank you. I have ordered the starter pack now. I will ask the vet before I use it but I have ordered it anyway as it will be handy for the cracks on his legs which have appeared due to a strangles complication.

Oh your poor boy, sounds like you have had a bit of a time of it.
I bought the starter pack too and have used all the bits. they send you a wee book that explains it. I think you will have to wait til the holes are not holes anymore. It is great stuff tho, highly recommend it.
good luck

Ahh too late. I was going to say, don't bother with all the cleansers and shampoos, just order the ointment. The very first time I used Camrosa was over 10 years ago and I ordered all the bumpf. I found, over these years, that it was as effective just by using the ointment rather than all the other stuff. I never buy the other stuff now.
