Not sure if there's such a word as unlevelness!! However, niavely bought young horse last year knowing
he had curb. He's not lame but particularly in trot he's lower and has less back-end muscle on that side. Had back checked a while ago and he did have "vertabrae out of alignment" but there has been no improvement since. He's not a competition horse and only lightly ridden, although this is most days. Could the curb cause this and would working harder improve the way he goes?

It sounds like a pelvic injury to me from your description.Have you had a vet/chiro or physio to check it out for you?
I can't answer re the curb as I have never had any experience of a horse with a curb.I would definitely get the unevenness looked at though.

Basically it means there is a previous injury that has caused damage to the muscles of the pelvic area or possibly an old fracture.
I would get back in touch with the person who came out to your horse and ask them what they recommend you do exercise wise to help build up the horses muscles. He is using one side more than the other to compensate for the injury and will need careful management and workload to help correct it. They will be able to suggest exercises which will help to get him using his bottom correctly.
It may also help to use a joint supplement to ease any stiffness to help him use himself properly alongside the workload you give him to bring his muscle tone back up to where it should be.
