Tiva is 16 months old now and has been using her crate whilst I am out at work since she was 8 weeks old. Yesterday I noticed a couple of lumps on her nose looks like she has had her nose in nettles. Thought nothing more of it and that they would soon settle down. This morning lumps still there they appear to be tender to touch as Tiva didn't like me examining them. Get back from work this afternoon and she has more lumps on the bridge of her nose and 1 under an eye. Phone the vet and appointment made for tomorrow.
I'm wracking my brain as to what may be causing these as she has had all lead walks today even round the block for pee and poo. On returning from this evenings walk the lumps have gone!!! I now think she may be allergic to her zinc plated crate. Has anyone else heard of a dog bring allergic to their crate?
All suggestions welcome, I may try her in her fabric crate and will discuss with my vet

she might be trying to stick her nose through the bars, and moving, thus causing it to rub, perhaps? if it's only on her nose, that could explain it.

oh, just seen she has one on her eye. ... could still be the same explanation, though? can you post pic? I'd have thought if it was somehow an allergy it'd have happened since she first started using it so I doubt that's it xx

no, as above, or she will have reacted to something on your walk even though on the lead or it could be a nasal pyoderma which google will fill you in on. Hope for your dog’s sake it’s not the latter as we had one with that years ago and it was’t nice at all :(

Tiva's lumps have all gone. It was very wierd as they came up and went down then came up again in a space of 2 days. Vet thinks it must be a reaction to something but we have no idea what. If they come up again she suggested using piriton. I was unable to get any good pictures as black lumps on a black dog just don't show up. I did a series of bad drawings to show the vet which she thought was a good idea. Anyway Tiva is back to her beautiful best.
