A few years ago my boy had a splint bone fracture - had it successfully operated on. I went hacking last weekend and he came in a bit warm on that leg, there is a bump which I think may have been from a previous injury but it felt warm but hard and no reaction to touch - I turned out for a few days and legs felt normal. He trots up sound and walk trot canter ok under saddle but I am paranoid as it is an odd lump and looks like you can see a bit of skin underneath. I will try and take a pic tomorrow. I am wondering if he has knocked the same leg again?? Is it possible even though operated on .. Ie a diff part of the splint?

Mine had the end of his splint bone removed following a fracture, which is I suspect much the same as your horse had, a knock could cause a normal splint to develop on the part that is still there or possibly make it vulnerable to arthritis in the area which could also appear as a slight lump but as it is non weight bearing and not within a joint should be no real problem unless it gets inflamed for some reason, keep an eye on it and if you are concerned get the vet to xray to see what is going on.
