Can a horse choke on a coin?

I noticed I must have dropped a pound out of my pocket. Most likely in the horses field or out riding. I’m not sure. I will have a look for it in the light but if one of my horses were to eat it would they choke/ what would happen? I hope I’m unnecessarily stressing?!

I think they'd spit it out as they do with stones and twigs in forage... I've found plenty of these left on the ground in the stable and field over the years.
If they did swallow it I'm pretty sure it would come out the other end.
Horses cope with all kinds of stones and bits in their paddocks.

Some years ago I left a purse in my horses stable. I'd just paid for a coffee with a £20 note and they only had coins. He found it. Credit cards were chewed but not eaten. We only ever found about 5 of the 18 pound coins in there. I did mention it to my vet and he said they'd go straight through.
