Can an old capped hock be cured? The capped hock on my welsh D mare has been there for 1-2 years.
She had the capped hock when I bought her, it was due to the owner not putting enough bedding down for her.
It isnt causing her any problems.

Any info I would be really greatful :)

Hiya,
My mare has had a capped hock for years.
You can have them drained and injected with a steriod, bandaging the hock for several weeks after - as I did - but it only stayed away for a few months before gradually coming back.
Apparentely that's quite common I'm afraid, and my vet told me there was no point having the procedure done again, as it was very unlikely to work if it had already reappeared once. It doesn't cause her any problems at all, and is purely cosmetic.
Having said that, the size of hers tends to fluctuate, a lot!
In the summer it can get quite big, and in the winter it goes down to almost nothing. At the moment I can hardly see it.
Bizzaar!
Hope some of this helps :)
