Can any Cornish peeps recommend a good riding stables near/on Bodmin

moor please?

Off to Cornwall at the end of the month for a week (Port Issac) and determined to get a ride in somewhere whilst there. I own a 16:2 TB mare so I like quality forward going horses and would prefer a ride that doesn't have a huge amount of roadwork (too much of that at home!).

Happy to travel around as I know the area well (used to live there many moons ago). Can anyone advise? Thanks.

I'm not Cornish (!) but when I visit my parents, who live by the moor, I go for hacks from Lower Tokenbury equestrian centre. It's not as grand as it sounds but has nice hunter types and they do good fast rides across Bodmin Moor. I've never been in a group of more than 4. I think the guy who runs it is a former eventer. The horses aren't young (but it is a riding school after all) but they are fit and well cared for.

There's another one with International in the name who I tried to book with once and just got a load of attitude, heard similar stories from other people.
