Can any one help please...(Feeding Race Horses Reading List Required)

My friend needs book(s) on the science or otherwise of feeding racehorses…..not pleasure horses… one or two I have found are American….they use substances in their feed that are banned here, so they are no good…she needs the author, title, publisher so that we can purchase them quickly as she needs it urgently…she is not given a reading list by the BRS.

CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?????????

what about the feed companies' websites? or are they not in-depth enough?

Thanks Kerrilli they're not indepth enough - she needs it for an NVQ thing. I don't know all the details.

You wouldn't necessarily give this horse racehorse feed. Anyway our racers got country cubes most of the time even when racing and if you ask a nutritionist they will suggest a suitable ration diet for a horse in medium work i.e. x amount of y cube or mix probably veteran mix and maybe a low dust forage type of alfa etc.
ETS at NVQ level you would just need to work out weight of ration and why it is suitable.
