Something to read!
Literally read all the books on my bookshelf and fancy something horsey.
Have read all the classic pony stories (jinny, jill books, pullien thompson sisters etc)
Have read k.m peytons books like flambards and blind beauty. Recently read one dollar horse but was very boring so resorted to reading the girl with the dragon tattoo trilogy which i have read 3 times before.
Getting kinda desperate, anybody have any decent recomendations? Prefer horsey but non horsey also good
:)

It's not horsey but have you read 'before I go to sleep'. It's brilliant. Also I'm not not love stories but really enjoyed the time travellers wife

Stranger than Fiction is a great book and beautifully written, The January Queen is also excellent - both by the same author - Joyce Stranger

A stranger in my life by Janet holt, really interesting story based on a woman's life on her farm, so loosly animal based (and some very dark secrets and twists) would highly recommend its the real story of Janet's life.

Some of Fiona Walkers books are very horsey. I've enjoyed them all and so has my teenage daughter. Start with French Relations, followed by Well Groomed.

Daughter has just also suggested The Horse Dancer by Jojo Moyles

Thanks for the suggestions everybody. Will be spending some money on amazon tomorrow :)
have read the horse dancer, really great book which I thoroughly enjoyed :)

Are there horses in heaven - my all time faveourite book, read it over and over again and still can't put it down - based on true story which makes it all the more special once you know the story! The best horsey book ever written in my opinion!

i'm reading fiona walkers 'well groomed' and clare baldings biography concurrently, both very good easy reading.
i'm one for a good autobiography too - got mark todds early one from ebay on the way, william fox pitt, mary king, jenny pittman, pippa funnel, princess anne... oh and not so horsey but the other passion in my life - mark cavendish :)
i like easy-reading, so anything by jilly cooper, catherine alliot, cecilia aherne.... also loving anything by caroline akril.

Haha Kristmaskat...is Jolly Cooper the comedy version of Jilly Cooper..lol :)

I have been working my way through all the Jojo Moyes books. Also loved When Sophie met Darcy Day - non fiction about Greatwood racehorse rescue.

Horse Heaven - Jane Smiley
Anything by KM Peyton - if you have never read Flambards, then kick on, superb.....
Classic Lives - Caroline Silver
True travel tales on horseback - of which the classic is Tshefichlys (sp) Ride - but I also remember from years back a great book about someone who rode across Iran (I want to say Christna / Clarissa Dobson?
Some of the good anglo/ irish tales - The Irish RM and anything by Molly Keane (M J Farrell) and there is also Around Ireleand in a Governess Cart (can't remeber the author)
Caroline Ackrill - brilliant, the Hoof in the Door trilogy (Eventers Dream...???)
Re-read Black Beauty (everyone should)
Also re-read National Velvet and My Friend Flicka (superbly written, and much more enjoyable to ride as an adult - the prose is excellent - and the last book of MFF - when Ken and his colt (who was actually a filly) were both close to death, and pulled through....still my most favourite book of all time.
Sea Buscuit - the book is far better (and far more tragic than the film......)
So much to enjoy........
