Here is my big brown knobber horse being an absolute darling.

First my mum rode him (be nice, she only ever rides my horses these days and she hasn't been on board for about 2 years now)

And then my step niece who is 12 rode him. To the best of my knowledge she has only ever ridden riding school ponies until BH.

I know I moan about him being an ass but sometimes he can be such a good boy. He is only 6 and is WBxTB so not your typical riding school horse :)

Awww bless him. They always seem to know when they really have to behave, I find :D

I might be able to beat you on the saintliness though - a few years back, one of the locals told me they'd been sitting their 18 month old niece on my pony in the field. Tackless. They then showed me a photo of the child, unheld as she'd stepped back to take a photo on her phone. Even as a H&S hating mad teenager (It was a fair while back!) I was rather shocked. You do have to wonder...

Anyway, sorry I digress, back to the point, he's lovely :D

Eeek. We like elf and safety when knobbers are involved. I hope that everyone will note all people are appropriately dressed in hats, correct foot wear and BPs for under 16s!

He does know the toad. I got on him first and he bucked with me. He was so good for niece. I was most proud of him. I don't often get to say that about him!

Nearly. Had someone coming to see the horse on Friday but the overflow from the village up the hill had opened into the stream that runs through the farm and turned it into a raging torrent through all the rain. It started to overflow and nearly took my legs away walking through it, coming over the top of my wellies, but its the only way to get the horse to the yard. She stopped at the edge as if to say "you are kidding me!", then just walked through it with me in tow. She even managed to pick the shallower bit, dunking me in the hole by the waterfall :D

Hey great to hear this, have read various threads about the Knobber and you have always made me smile the way you write about him, so he is off the Knobber Burger thread today, as he was such an angel bless !!!!!

To add to his uncharacteristic good behaviour he took part in the yard treasure hunt today. This involved me chasing after an 11 year old on her pony (and I really do mean chasing after her flat out) with a biro between my teeth and a note pad wedged between my thigh and my saddle then removing objects from scary buckets tied to trees, picking leaves out of hedges and galloping about some more. Often whilst I dropped my reins entirely to try and write down the answers to clues in the damn notepad. We won anyway and she was very please.

Poor BH was exhausted though and even had a tiny nose bleed due to his exertions. He needs a well earned break now. Love his soul. He's made a lot of people very happy this weekend. He may not be a world beater at dressage or jumping but he's got a good heart really.

Naww what a good boy :D. He was very good over that jump too.
Although yes I can beat it yellow nobber was 5 and I had owned him for a week and my 3 year old cousin hopped on bareback as I didnt have a saddle at the time.

O bless her cd. What an absolute sweetheart she is. She definitely looks like she knows she has a little person on board. She has that mother hen look about her they seem to get when they know they have to be gentle.
