okay so we are moving house again this weekend and we said that when we move is when we start loking for anouther horse after connor, so seeing as it took us 6 long months to find connor i thought i should start now.
so i am looking for 2 horses now instead of 1 mainly because we need one to keep the other company. we might end up getting a little shetland as a companion but i would like somthing around the 16.2hh hight as my second one mainly because then my dad can ride it.
so i am wanting a 16.2hh horse that is a good all rounder and good with a novice my dad used to ride and hunt alot he was a very capable rider but he has not ridden for about 20 years apart from when he rode connors once and he was rather nervous about that so we are loking for something that will give him alot of confidence but i will also be compeating him/her and will be the main rider for it.
however i would be getting something slightly smaller for my main ride around the 15.2hh no smaller that 15.2hh and no bigger than 16.2hh but this is my main one the companion the height does not matter.
i will be looking to probaly event my horse but if it does not take to eventing then it does not matter for the companion we will be loking for somthing that is around the age of 10 no younger than 8. this is because this will not be my main rider and youngesters are genrally not such good horses for a novice or nervous rider.
for my horse i will be looking for somehting around the 4 and upward kinda age no older than 8.
for my horse the price is not something that will make us say yes or no to a certain horse i will be looking to compeate it and have it as a horse to stay for years to come so temprement and quality of the horse is much more important that price however we dont obviously want something to expensive. for the second (companion) horse we do have a budget of around £3000 this is alot of money but we really dont want a horse that does not have a safe and sensible temprement.
we are looking for something that is safe to hack out alone and in company, has a good jump for the youngester it does not really matter as long as it has scope but we would ike them both to jump 3ft+ becsaue we are going to hopefully be hunting them.
has to be good in dressage as well. preferably we will loan for the companion, however i know from past horse hunting loands are not always the best idea and can be hard to come by
we are based around the heathfield area as of friday.
sounds very exact so might not be much out there but if you hear of anything that could be suitable can u please tell me.
