Reading the advert, it sounds like she might be very old or have a major health issue. Maybe putting down would be best for her, if shes unsaleable (as i assume, or they wudnt be putting an ad like this and mentioning rescue) she could get taken from sale to sale and go from unsuitable home to unsuitable home,

Mare looks lovely. I would wonder if there's some underlying issue as to why she's been out of work, but the advert sounds pretty genuine. I would hate to be in that situation Hope she finds someone suitable.

It is a shame but well done on the owner for being brave and honest enough. If i had the money I would have her .. Im quiet used to biting mares now and she looks so like my mare

It looks perfectly genuine to me. Why be honest about the biting yet not declare health issues? I'm sure if there were any other issues she would say so. What would she have to gain from holding information back anyway, as she's not looking for money?

Another victim of relationship break-up, combined with recession, probably.

I actually sent this lady a message telling her we were discussing her advert and not to give up on rehoming her mare. I got a lovely message back to say she had been inundated with responses and that she was now going to chose the best home possible for her mare and to say a big thank you to us for this thread

That's nice. I have also emailed a couple of people who I think may be interested. But sounds like she may have enough to choose from now.
