Thought I'd post this here as I'm sure someone must know someone....

What they've written about him:

Teddy is looking for a forever home, or foster home. He is currently still with his adopters, but we need to find somewhere for him to go to ASAP as otherwise he faces having to go into kennels. We feel kennels would be the worst place he could go, as it would cause a lot of stress to this already sensitive young dog.

Teddy is a 13 month old neutered GSD Cross. Teddy was adopted from the rescue 8 months ago but is sadly being returned as his adoptive home have said they can't cope with him.

Teddy is a beautiful and affectionate boy, but he can get over-excitable and he needs a calm and experienced handler to bring out the best in him. He has been over stimulated in his current home, so he needs someone who has knowledge of dogs of Teddy's breed and his age, to bring out the best in him. Teddy needs to go to a home as the only dog as he is afraid of other dogs and this causes him to be on the defensive around other dogs. He needs to be kept on lead when out and around other dogs, his current adopters aren't comfortable with keeping Teddy on lead. Teddy has been taken to training classes with twenty other dogs present. As can be imagined, this has unsettled Teddy further around them, and exacerbated the problem, given that he is afraid of other dogs.

Teddy has 'mouthed' fairly strongly a couple of times, but he has not bitten. Again, this is something that an experienced handler could help him with. He is not aggressive in any way towards people, and we can't stress enough that it was mouthing and not biting. But for this reason, we are looking for a home without children. Teddy would thrive with one person or a couple who don't have children, he is a very sweet but misunderstood boy who just wants the opportunity to be in a home that was meant to be for him. When he has that home, he will make the most wonderful and loyal companion for someone.

Teddy is housetrained, travels well and is not destructive.
Teddy is in the Cornwall area, but we can arrange transport.

If you think you could offer Teddy the right home, or you could foster Teddy, please email cathy@oncelovedrescue.org.uk or telephone 07770 795334
Note: Please ring rather than text. And if possible please leave a landline number for us to phone you back on, as mobiles are expensive for us to ring back. Thank you

There is a little more to this. Saying no more than check a couple of my recent posts in AAD. He is a lovely, lovely dog though.

Thanks for that vhf, I did wonder as I read through the OP. Have his owners contacted Big GSD as suggested, I am sure they would put his details on their website. I do hope the right home turns up for him.

This is a recipe for disaster and unless the potential new owners are aware of all the facts this is not going to have a happy outcome.

I understand he is not to be rehomed with children but children are everywhere and it only takes one to pop up unexpectedly.

I think a lot of us did say this originally dg, and suggest the best thing for the dog was to pts but it seems his owner is not happy to do that. I always shudder a bit when I see dogs for rehoming that are not good with children, rather than just not used to children which I think is why some rescues stipulate no children. I have a feeling in this case that the dog does live with children, but can't recall all the details.

He actually looks like a working line GSD with soft ears, possibly either working GSD, Malinois, Dutch Herder in there or all three and this is why I hate seeing these breeds being churned out willy nilly and sold or rehomed to novice/pet homes. The original post makes much more sense now.

I hope Biggsd can help him out, please, please make sure his owners list him on there.

This dog NEEDS someone used to the extremities and sensitivities of these types of dogs (you know, the kind that might come up the lead at you, but also a dog that you can't shout at?), they are NOT easy and they are NOT like other dogs.

I guess he is the same as was mentioned before?

I like the look of him and agree with CC.
I would take him but for the fact that if he is in a 'rescue' I would never be approved!

For a start, we already have 11 dogs here during the day, none are kept separated - why when they know who is pack leader? I feed raw and a variety of other reasons.

Poor boy, he needs some discipline, plenty of work/exercise and mixing with a pack.

Bet if he came here people who have had him wouldn't recognise him in a month!

Vhf I wouldnt have tied the two together tbh even if I had seen your posts, I just saw it on the rescue's page :)

I wonder what will happen to him if he ends up in kennels? The only dog I've seen similar to him was a spaniel x something (possibly dalmation) that went into a working home where he was able to focus his energies elsewhere - it took his new owners a long time to sort him but once they did he was a different dog.

Sorry just got in from near Gatwick:o (collecting and shipping mini bull semen..since you did`nt ask!) The forum is Patrol and Protection Dog UK ..there might be skilled guys on there prepared to look him over with a view to training..it does`nt say if he is toy proud, but from the sound of it he certainly will "rag". About his only hope IMO ,he does`nt sound your typical urban pet.
