A good friend of mine is seeking info, good or bad, on her rehomed (due to personal circumstances) dogs. She is desperate to find out how they are!
Any ideas as to where to search? (the welfare people won't give out any details to her).

Here are the dogs details:
Ok they are both Cavalier King Charles Spaniels....Poppy is a Blenheim (brown and white) and Ash is a Tricolour (black brown and white) but he doesnt have much brown - just his eyebrows and a bit on one of his legs.
I've had them since 8 weeks old...think Poppy is 7 years old - 8 this year in may, and Ash is 6 and will be 7 in April. He also has the beginnings of a heart murmour but nothing serious.
They went together as a pair through the King Charles Cavalier Rescue society - Jay Forsythe is the Kent organiser.
Ash's micro chip number is **************, but I dont have a note of Poppys.
I left them at the foster home on April 1st last year which was a friday, and they were collected and rehomed by the weds of the following week!!
Poppy is big for the breed, more of the height of a Cocker, but Ash is the right build for the breed.
Anything else you think would be useful, let me know.

When I adopted my 2 rescue Dobes I understood from Dobermann Welfare their previous home was a couple whose marriage had broken down and the husband had left and the dogs were left on their own for long periods. The wife had passed them on to DW because she cared about them and wanted the best for them. I keep in touch with DW and Im sure if their previous owner wanted to know how they were DW would be happy to tell her but not pass on my details.

Im sure the rescue where your friends dogs went would do the same if the present owner keeps in touch with them but they will not pass on any details and rightly so.

If you gave up a child for adoption a similar stance would be taken by the adoption agency.

what DG said, we don't give details either so the rescue are following common protocol, I suppose unless someone here knows who has them lol or she tries a cavi forum then there is little chance she will find out.

Ask the rescue if they will pass on a card to the new owners and please could they let you have an update.
No names, addresses, contact details -just a reassurance that they are ok.
