Basically long story short..
My 14.2, 6 year old cob has been lame for 6 weeks. He has had bute, box rest, nerve blocks. Vets xrays his foot for lami/arthritis and the only abnormality was a bone growth on his short pastern bone at the joint.

He has been lame but has some days worse than others. He is supposed to be being joint blocked but has gone sound in the school but is still slightly lame on the hard ground.
He has good days and bad. Box rest Hasn't worked.

I'm fed up and running out of options and ideas. Helppp!

From reading your previous thread, it sounds lilke the bone spur is causing the intermittent lameness. The joint block should tell you if that is correct or not, but you want to make sure that the joint block is done when he is actually lame.

All the best.

Yeh that Is the problem! The vets are so busy that the soonest appointment I can get Is thurs next week. If he is fairly sound on that day I would have to cancel and rebook.
I don't want to change vets now as they have come this far with him.

Ok well touch wood he is lame for the joint block.
Thanks for letting me know about surgery.. Id rather know now than it being a shock if the vet says it!
I'll get th insurance company phoned!
