Anyone in the Oxford area (Abingdon) and can spare a day next weekend to help us do a peaceful protest outside a "rescue" centre that is ill treating animals and selling them on to make a profit, please can you go to this facebook page and ask to join the group to read up on what's happening there and if you can help us.The BBC I think will be attending too.
The rspca have already removed 78 animals but the owner of the rescue centre moved some of the animals out before the rspca got there and has now returned them after the rspca left the scene, the rspca won't go back in to remove the rest.
They rescue centre is a front for selling animals and some of which have known to be stolen animals.
This is the link, ignore the title, it isn't shut as we hoped, they have started up again.

I dont see what you will achieve from protesting outside this place!
Maybe protesting outside the RSPCA headquarters would do more good, and show them up to the public!

Well good luck!!
I hope it does some good, reading some of the stories and seeing the pics, i am surprised the RSPCA didnt follow up on this!!

The more i hear and the more i read about the RSPCA, makes me wonder what the ell they actually do for the good of animals!!
Someone needs to shake them up a bit, maybe THEY need looking into!

I would count a rescue as something in bad condition, abandoned or perhaps heading for the meat man when it deserves another chance.

That said I would have no problem with anywhere which "rescued" animals, got them in good condition and then sold them on. It would free up funds to rescue more. Dont think it would work with the established charities as they need money from donations to survive.

Where it seems to go wrong is when people take on too many and dont have the time or money to look after them.

I haven't joined the facebook page so I dont know about this one, but there have been several others in the last few weeks.

Most charities charge a 'fee' when you rehome an animal but that animal remains the property of the charity and its condition should continue to be monitored by that charity
eg WHW

I think the issue is when stolen animals are sold on-if it is knowingly done which would seem to be the case according to the few snips i read over last night-that would definitely not constitute rescue...I think it is commonly called theft!

If there is an investigation taking place by the RSPCA then everyone should back off, whatever their opinions are of them, and let them do what they are doing. Interfering will undoubtedly lead to the investigation being hampered and possibly ruining all chances of a prosecution case. If there are other horses there which are suffering or living in unacceptable conditions, and the RSPCA have already started an investigation then they WILL NOT ignore the rest of the horses.
