How my horse stood innocently munching his hay net one minute then took one of the stable doors clean off its hinges the next?

Im assuming part of the net got caught or something,

he was tied to bailer twine as was the net to a ring above the door, startled himself then watched as the door fell flat.

He then dropped his head feeling sorry for himself, soft lump.

Took 2 of us to lift the door its so heavy. luckily escaped unharmed

they will do funny odd things!
A few years ago I had a 17hh MW on livery.. he was only 4 so we were breaking him in. One min he was in his stable (12 x 12 wooden box) the next second he was standing in the yard. Stable door was still closed and bolted - explain HOW such a large horse could fit OVER his door with no damage to himself or stable (actually the door had to be fixed cos we couldn't open it!) He turned out to be a good eventer and very good at dressage.

Mine took the tack room door off it's hinges the other day while I was taking his bandages off, havent a clue how, he's 12.3 and the doors over 6ft tall!

Mine once lifted a stable door off it's hinges and then proceeded to drag said door around the yard at a gallop - sparks flying - narrowly missing another tied up horse! The tie ring was on the door, and he was tied with baler twine - but it failed to break! Finally got free when the (leather) headcollar broke. Lessons learnt - don't trust baler twine and always use a leather headcollar. K
p.s. Needless to say the tie ring was moved off the door the next day. What annoyed me was that the yard moved my tie ring (I insisted) but didn't seem to think it was worth moving any of the others! I'm now on a much better yard.
