Can anyone recommend a good alternative to Blue Chip?

Ever since I've had my boy, (2yrs) I've fed him Blue Chip Lami Light, (he's had laminitis before I had him). It is a really excellent feed and I've been very happy with it, but my boy's always seemed abit hypo/restless. I mentioned it to a friend who swears its the feed. I've totally cut out the Blue Chip for the last 3 weeks and the change in him is unbelievable, he's much more settled & does not box walk at night as much. He is a good doer and needs to lose abit so at the moment he's just on a handful of hi-fi lite (to mix his glucosamine with). If he loses condition I'd like to put him on something else instead of Blue Chip, can anyone recommend a good non heating feed? He's only really in moderate work.

Thanks in advance.

Equimins advance complete is a very good vit/min supplement which u could just mix in so he's getting his goodness.

I'd be a bit concerned that a 2 yr old is in moderate work. Mines still unbroken in the field playing with his friends.

I had my pony on Bailey's Lo-Cal for a while and she did very well on it - I never tried her on Blue Chip tho so can't compare the two :)

ETA - a friend of mine has hers on Dengie Happy Hoof. He suffered from lami last year but has been ok this year, he's probably in moderate work too. I've stuck my horse on it as well (she's never had lami) and she's ok on it and I really have to watch her with feeds as they tend to send her sky high :)
