My dogs insurance is about to run out and i'm about to start shopping around for the best deal for my 2 jack russells and was wondering if anyone could recommend any good companies. One is 8 and never had anything wrong with her and the other is nearly one and has been diagnosed with epilepsy. Also details on those to avoid would be good.
Thank you in advance.

insured with Animal friends. Had one claim for rotie go through and they paid out within a couple of weeks. Can't rrecommend them enough.

I just insured Harvey with them, after reading this thread. I will blame you if I dislike their service. Cheaper than NFU, who we insure everything else with.

My girl is insured with Argos, the cover is great and it was v cheap. I haven't had a claim yet though and as they are quite new, have only dealt with a couple of claims with them through work, which were fine. The only company I've had real problems with personally (or at work) is EandL.

More than are fab.
I made a claim for my Boxer's avulsion fracture of the hock and they paid up very quickly.

Would avoid E &L like the plague, was given mis-information by their staff when I wanted to claim for seeing a cardiologist Cause the amount was £5 more than the excess was told it was told not to, but when I tried to claim for the cost of the blood tests & EKG on the second trip they wouldnt pay as it was then a pre-exisiting condition!!!

Just recently insured our boy with Tesco's dog insurance. They were the cheapest that we could find.

My parents have their dog with them and as well as their 4 cats. They have claimed for Betty the dog, and Tesco paid out really quickly, and were very helpful.

The excess is only £60- which was the lowest we managed to find.
