Can anyone recommend a good saddler in Herts

Hi,
As the title really, I need a new/secondhand saddle for one of my boys. I have three nice saddles that I can part-x/sell, so need a saddler that might do this. I'm between Watford and the M40 so one that travels in that area would be fab.

Don't like MW, after sales care was very poor for me. Wanted me to wait 6 weeks for him to come and correct a saddle he had just fitted. It was rubbing and making pony buck.

Martin Wilkinson, have a huge stock of saddles worth a visit, at London Colney, so you can have a look around, I have always had a lady called Berry to my horse, very nice, no hard sales.

When I got my horse another saddler said he needed a new saddle, the one he had was a good make leather saddle 6 months old, someone at my yard said get Berry to have a look/2nd opinion, she said that it was one of the best fitting saddles she had seen in ages, I didn't need a new one only flocking! Never had a problem with them myself.

BTW you may have to wait a week or so to get someone out as they are always busy! Where abouts are you? You sound very close to me!!!

if you know what you are looking for etc you could try cat-lips in Rickmansworth. i got my beautiful jeffries falcon from her - i took a template of his shape with me.

Oh yes! I always forget about Catlips, prob because my car can't really manage the pot holey drive!! Unfortunately you can't see anything but from what I have heard she has loads of saddles there!

Maybe you could even hack there and try a few on? Prob best to phone first as she does get busy and you will otherwise have a long wait! Girl at my yard traded in some nice quality tack and rugs a few weeks ago, shame you can't look round though as I am sure she prob has some really nice stuff there, also you have to stick to your guns about what you want and not get talked into something you don't really want!!

I've been band from going to catlips by my OH!!

as he hates waiting and there is always people there who want tons of stuff. I'm waiting to hear back from MW about when they can come out. Is anyone good at pricing saddles? I haven't a clue what my three are worth.
