Ok so want a really nice breastplate for Pidge. currently has a large old one for everyday use and a Sabre hunting breastplate for best. However the Sabre one is a little too snug when jumping so am after something either with elastic in or one that comes up a tad bigger than the Sabre one? He is a 17hh ISH and has huge neck and shoulders

sabre do a traditional hunting breastplate with elastic in the shoulders, so that might give a little more feedom, i have the sabre breastgirth on my 16.1 and its on the last hole, and hes not overly big, so that style would probs be too small on yours. umm ive never had any other makes, maybe jefferies would have one? breastplates are really expensive as well which is rubbish

I have a Jefferies comp breastplate (as seen in sig) and love it. Is beautifully made and lovely leather. Not cheap. For a more "traditional" design, the Kate Negus ones are lovely.

well I was hoping to win the one from here but have heard nothing

Are the Jeffries one more generous than the Sabre one?

cotswold sport do good ones... they come up large and are cheap! I have had one two years, cant fault it

I have one of these and it's lovely. However I have just had to upgrade to an Albion Xfull one as the JW is now too small for my mare. She is a 16.2 ISH but has quite a big frame although very TB to look at.

Kieffer do a lovely jumping one.

I'm after a Kieffer hunting one for Milly. I've been meaning to get one to go with her bridle for ages, but just haven't got round to it! doh!

mmm the kieffer one is nice but so is the jeffries one

would it be too extravagent to get the comp one and also the plain leather one? I didn't really get Pidge a Christmas present after all

I've got one of these as well. They are beautiful but small. Mine manages to go around just one side of my horses neck. It is very small, she's 16.2. I have to take it back. The tack shop also had it marked up wrong at £35 so a complete bargain that does not fit at all
