:D As title - me and bay beasty need some cheering up so we are starting to look for a holiday.

had a quick look last night and didnt see any that really grabbed me so if anyone has any recommendations that would be fab thankies!:D:p

Cavblacks went to Castle Leslie in Co Monaghan a few weeks ago and had a fab time :) It's lovely there, great accommodation and fab riding but it is a bit expensive.

Otherwise there are several places on the Sligo coast which do beach riding and the Yeats route for example, where you ride between your places to stay and they bring your kit along for you in the car.

There was an article in H&H about riding holidays in Ireland a few weeks ago but can't quite remember when, sorry:o

Crossogue equestrian = fantastic. They have a website but their facebook page is better for photos of their horses, farm and cross country course. Good horses and excellent food - definitely worth the trip!

fab thanks - ideally like somewhere that includes the food - most say they will drop you off in a town in the evening.

I did indeed and would recommend it a hundred times over!! Fantastic, responsive, forward yet sensible horses, great instrutors, great facilities, beautiful surroundings, they honestly couldnt make it any better!!

www.inthesaddle.co.uk do trips there PM if you want more info

Sleive Aughty was fab when i went, it's near Galway, set in forest and hills. They had an amazing cross country course which went on for miles. Some nice smaller fences for whimps like me, and some nice meaty fences that made me hyperventilate just looking at them. The food was all organic and completely yummy, from their own garden. They've done a lot of work since i went so it should be even better. The hacking was like a fairytale and the rides were nice and fast :) There were also various instructors for dressage in a nice classical style that i really enjoyed, and for XC or jumping.

I really did love my time there and can't recommend it enough. They're so friendly and will do anything to make your holiday special. On our last evening my friend and i went out on our own on a bareback hack around the forest, it was a great end to the holiday :)

Think it was called Flowerhill House near Portumna. Fantastic - 200 acres of cross country, show jumping, pub rides and fantastic food.

Hunting too...

Also, anywhere that might lets us take the horses on the beach and maybe have a swim on them would be awesome. I love swimming on horses, its brilliant. :D
