Hi all, this isn't urgent but to think about in the future. The horse I share can't do anything more than hacking at the moment and may be going to a new home soon but his owner will be getting a new one which I will continue to share and help out with.
I've been riding for 6 months after about a 4 year break and I've only had a couple of lessons (one private flatwork lesson and one XC group schooling with Jonathan Chapman). When I had my horse I had regular lessons with an instructor called Anna Head, and I gave her a ring a while back but she didn't seem that interested. The flatwork lesson I mentioned was with the instructor the horse's owner has (very rarely) and she was pretty good and very focused on improving my position and relaxing me in the saddle as I am so tense when people watch me ride! I only know her first name which is Meta (spelling may be wrong). Anna and Meta charge roughly the same, about 26 pounds an hour.
When I have access to a horse I can have lessons on (hopefully soon!) I'd like to start to have one or two lessons a month to really improve my riding. I'm not ruling out going to a riding school as I do have a good one near me where I went for a while before I got my first pony. It'd be nice to hear some recommendations for riding instructors other than the ones I already know, or maybe you know the ones I do and you want to endorse them! I'm mainly looking to improve my position/general riding and get some guidance about doing my BHS stages as I don't own a horse and have no horse/competition related goals to work towards. I'm interested in all aspects of riding, so I'm not interested in exclusively dressage/jumping instructors.
Hoping someone has some pointers, thanks for reading.
