as post title really, we will be moving up to one of these areas for my partners work within the next 6 months and i am looking for places that will take my motley crew
im not bothered about stables as one of mine doesnt fit comfortably into a "normal" sized stable and other has always lived out, good hacking is more important than fancy facilities but an arena would be a nice bonus

Moved away from that area a few years ago when I kept my horse at the yard at Duncrahill near Pencaitland (very near Pathhead) but think they are only doing retirement liveries now

Near the vicinity of Pathhead - you have Oxenfoorde, Vogrie, Mountskip
http://www.oxenfoordequestrian.co.uk/
http://www.vogrie.co.uk/ - possibly more of a riding school now so would at other options first
http://www.mpender.co.uk/equestrian.html - however I believe Mountskip is for sale

Think you may find it worth having a look at Edinburgh equestrian centre as just along the A1 from Tranent. Lots of lovely off road hacking!

There are also some yards nearby which maybe worth looking at like
Stobbs Farm Livery, Gorebridge, Hodges Farm and Orchardfield (Boggs Holdings - towards tranent), Humbie - http://www.humbieequestrian.co.uk/

There are more than I have listed here but just to give you an idea but hopefully you should find what you want. There are some smaller yards about too. Depends what you want. PM me if you want when you have found something and I'll see what I know about it or can find out for you ;)

thanks and i will keep that in mind, when we go up to look at houses i will try and fit in some exploring and see what is local ish as it seems quite rural from google maps

I stay in Pathhead :) hillhead livery is stunning DIY yard in elphingston or burnside eq which is v close to Pathhead (in Crichton) offer all livery services and its a lovely yard. Depends what your after really. If u need a hand feel free to pm

There's Ballencrieff at Longniddry, Edinburgh Equestrian near Dalkeith, Hillhead near Elphinstone, Oxenfoord and Burnside just outside Pathhead, Mountskip and Stobs Farm near Gorebridge, Thornton at Rosewell to begin with. There are quite a few smaller farm type livery yards in the area too.
It will depend on exactly what you are looking for and availability at any of the yards in the area.
Further out along the Edinburgh City Bypass you also have Swanston and Morton Mains.
These would all be good places to start.
If you want anymore info on any of these yards (or others), please feel free to PM me. Good luck with your search. :)
