Can anyone recommend me a vet near oxford?

Im looking for a vet to do a vetting on a horse near oxford. Can anyone recommend someone to use and/or avoid?!

Which side of Oxford is the horse? We use O'Gormans, but they would be expensive to call out if it was the north side, rather than the south side

I use McGonnell & Gillatt who I in my limited experience with them find very good and they cover Oxford area. Came with good recommendations as well.

What side of Oxford?

Andrew McGonnell is my vets, but they are Hungerford so travel cost to the opposite side of Oxford would push the price up. So if you are wanting S / SW of Oxford there is a fair bit of choice.

N/NE side of Oxford - Jane Nixon vetted my current horse. Other option would possibly be Avon Vale. Both very good for vetting of a sports/competition horse.

I use O'Gormans and they've done two vettings for me, both of which were carried out carefully and professionally. Jamie O'Gorman did the first one and Emiliano Espinar the second one (just over a week ago). They were both very good at explaining what they were doing and why, and were good with the horses. having Spike Milligan coming to see my horse would make me giggle everytime! I'm sure hes a lovely brilliant vet!

We are near witney and are considering moving - Used to be with Drove, but after them being an hour late for 1st call Vacc's jab nearly everytime! (and No there wasnt an emergency - they went to the wrong place) - Considering moving!!!!

Another vote for Emiliano at O'Gormans. I've never had him do a vetting, but he is very knowledgeable.

Another vote for them. I did my work experience there and they look after the horses in the hospital very well and have always been on time (and if 5 mins late- they ring!) and v. good with all our horses.

I've used Peter Fenelly at Baskerville, Horgan and Partners (http://www.hampdenvets.co.uk/EquineHome.php) on and off for years. Peter is very nice and quiet, and really knows his stuff. Have also had Kate (Katie?) out in Peters absence, and she's also great.
